How Our Milk is Processed: Quality In, Quality Out

For us at The Modern Milkman, quality production begins with our producers: our cows. It is important that we care for and fairly treat our dairy providers. The Modern Milkman is partnered with Oakridge Dairy, which supplies our cows with an eight-acre farm and open-stall barns. This means our cows are free to roam, graze, and drink from water resources across the property. 

Additionally, our farms supply a separate milking parlor, a nursery barn for pregnant, birthing, or nursing cows, and a hospital barn for sick cattle to receive proper care and recovery away from the herd. 

Everything our cows are fed is home-grown, so we know exactly what their diet consists of. Our cows are fed every morning and their barn is cleaned daily. We also ensure our cows also have access to food and chemical-free, fresh water. 

How Does Our Doorstep Delivery System Work?

Not only do we provide our customers with the freshest milk, but we also work with other farms (with our same quality values) to supply additional farm-fresh products in our delivery orders. When you sign up for doorstep deliveries, you pick a subscription plan based on your individual supply-based needs. Our subscriptions include:

  • Full Share: Choose any six products for weekly milk delivery.

  • Half Share: Choose any four products for weekly milk delivery.

  • Family Share: Choose any eight products for weekly milk delivery.

Feel free to change your subscription as needed! You can also add a la carte items to your weekly deliveries. 

In addition to whole, skim, and 2 percent milk, we also offer a variety of other dairy and bakery products, including:

  • Whole, 2 percent, and skim milk in glass half-gallon containers from Oakridge Dairy

  • Whole, 2 percent, and skim milk in plastic gallon jugs from Guida’s Dairy

  • A half-gallon of chocolate milk

  • Quart of coffee, strawberry, or chocolate peanut buttermilk

  • Quart of half & half or heavy cream

  • Dozen of eggs

  • 16 ounces of sour cream

  • 16 ounces of cottage cheese

  • ½-pound salted butter

  • 8 ounces of cream cheese

  • 16 ounces of chocolate pudding

  • 32 ounces of whole milk non-homogenized plain yogurt

  • 7-grain bread (loaf)

  • Wecka bread (loaf)

  • 6-pack of grinder rolls

  • 4-pack of brioche buns

We also offer a few specialty products, in which the flavors change weekly. These include: 

  • 16 ounces of Skyr yogurt

  • 8-pack cookies

  • 6-pack bagels

  • 12 ounces of cottage cheese dip

  • 6 ounces of granola

  • Cheese – the size varies weekly

For delivery, we ask that you place a cooler on your porch or outside your door so that your dairy and other products remain cool and safe from roaming animals. We do require that you are home upon delivery, so be sure to schedule a delivery time that works for you! If you will be gone on the delivery day, just let us know beforehand and we will put a hold on your subscription for the week.
