Our cows eat 100 pounds of food a day that we have planted, grown, and harvested ourselves. A nutritionist develops a special recipe of corn, hay, rye, grains, proteins, and more to ensure their diet is as healthy as possible. They also drink 50 gallons of water a day from our well to ensure they’re hydrated with untreated water.
The covered barn at Oakridge Dairy protects our girls from the harsh New England weather. We can close the sides during inclement weather throughout the summer and winter. It also includes a milking room, a birthing barn, and a separate space for those who no longer produce milk. We even have a detached veterinarian barn and a place for trimming their hooves.
