Is there really anyone who wouldn’t appreciate delicious, fresh milk and dairy products delivered directly to their door weekly? We don’t think so, and we have based our business on that belief for subscribers to the Modern Milkman services in Connecticut.

Partnered with Oakridge Dairy, we celebrate the time-honored tradition of home delivery. By eliminating the middleman, we can serve directly to our customers. We are proud that we can continue to serve our friends and neighbors with quality, convenience, freshness, and a growing variety of dairy products and baked goods. 

How It Works

Subscribers to the Modern Milkman can purchase shares that can be customized as desired for weekly delivery. Home deliveries arrive in a paper bag to be placed in a cooler on your doorstep. Subscribers do not have to be home to accept the delivery – but we ask that you leave a cooler out to keep the products cool and safe until you arrive home.

Our customers may make changes or additions to planned deliveries up to three days in advance, with no additional fee. If you’re planning a vacation, we will be happy to “pause” your order. We also offer an option that allows you to donate your food to a local food pantry or a family in need. When you return, notify our office, and we’ll return you to our active delivery list.

Our shares consist of:

  • Full Share: Your choice of any six products.

  • Half Share: Your choice of any four products.

  • Family Share: Your choice of any eight products.

What’s Available for Local Dairy Deliveries?

The Modern Milkman has teamed with other Connecticut farms to offer artisan and aged cheeses, bread, pastries, pies, eggs, and more.

We currently partner with other Connecticut farms and food producers and serve more than 20 locations in the state, with planning underway to add additional locations. We welcome East Granby subscribers to our expanding list of customers.

You can choose from several products with your weekly milk delivery, including:

  • Half-gallon glass containers of whole milk, 2% milk, chocolate milk, and skim milk from Oakridge Dairy
  • Plastic gallon containers of whole milk, 2% milk and skim milk from Guida’s Dairy
  • Quarts of coffee milk, strawberry milk, and chocolate peanut butter milk
  • Quarts of half & half and heavy cream
  • 16-ounce packages of sour cream, cottage cheese, and chocolate pudding
  • 32 ounces of whole milk non-homogenized plain yogurt
  • 8 ounces of cream cheese
  • Dozen eggs
  • ½-pound salted butter
  • Loaf of 7-grain Wecka bread
  • 6-pack grinder rolls
  • 4-pack brioche buns

We also have additional products. These flavors change weekly. You can choose them from the menu at the top right of the “Customize Your Order” tab.

  • 16 ounces of Skyr yogurt
  • 8-pack cookies
  • 6-pack bagels
  • 12 ounces of cottage cheese dip
  • 6 ounces of granola
