Who Is The Modern Milkman? 

The Modern Milkman is operated by Oakridge Dairy. We have the highest standards for producing milk, and every bottle is guaranteed fresh. Choose your subscription: a half share, full share, or family share, and customize it with the products you want! We will automatically renew your subscription three days before delivery. Any time that you will be out of town, you can call us to pause your delivery or have it donated to a local family in need. 

If you have to make changes or pause an order, you can also do that up to three days before your delivery date.

How Milk Products Are Produced at The Modern Milkman

Simply put, we spoil our cows here at The Modern Milkman. We provide a healthy, safe, and wholesome environment for our girls. Our 8-acre open-stall barn allows them to walk around and eat as they please, and we grow everything we feed our cows. 

Our professional nutritionist creates special diets for them, depending on whether they are milking, not milking, or have calves. Any time the cows are in the barn, they have food in front of them to eat whenever they’d like. If they don’t eat it all, we take the hay and grain out the next morning and replace it with fresh food!

When the cows are being milked in another barn, we vacuum all of the manure out of the stalls every day. We also have a separate nursery and a dedicated medical wing to care for sick and pregnant cows. When the females are released from the nursery, they are pasture-raised until they start producing milk. Most cows begin producing when they are about two years old, and we typically have about 2,000 calves a year — 1,200 to 1,300 are females.
