How Does Bottled Milk Delivery Stay Fresh?
Ordering fresh dairy from a local farm is nothing new. However, it is something relatively new for this generation. Some of you might remember the old delivery trucks that would deliver milk right to your front door, and that is exactly what The Modern Milkman has brought back. The best part of this operation is that with new technology, we keep your bottled milk fresh until you’re able to bring it into your house.
Our Milk Delivery Process
Our milk delivery trucks travel many miles every day, yet the milk remains perfectly fresh. So, how do we keep the milk fresh? Our milk travels through a series of “portable” refrigerators from the moment it leaves the dairy farm. As the cows are milked, the milk is pumped into a refrigerated truck, then transported to be homogenized, pasteurized, and bottled.
Once we process the milk for human consumption, it goes right back into a refrigerated truck for delivery. The trucks are insulated and cooled to the ideal temperature to keep your milk fresh throughout transportation.
Glass Bottles
While we do deliver gallons of milk in plastic containers from our partners at Guida’s Dairy, we bottle our milk in half-gallon glass containers. The thick glass serves as added insulation, which means that the milk stays colder longer than it would in plastic containers.
In cases where we use delivery boxes, they are also designed to keep your milk and other products cool until you can bring everything inside. Our delivery boxes are similar to a cooler – they are made with thick insulation to keep the cold in and the heat out.
We always ask that you put a cooler outside for your fresh milk delivery. The cooler keeps the milk and other dairy products cool until you can bring them in and put them in the refrigerator.

We offer three subscription programs, so you can choose the plan that best fits your family. Choose four products when you sign up for the Half Share, six products when you sign up for the Full Share, and eight products when you sign up for the Family Share.
You can even customize your order through your account portal, and change products from your main order, add a la carte items, or even pause your subscription if you will be away from home.
